Joshua Basin Water District selected Bollinger Consulting Group to pursue a grant from the California Urban Water Conservation Council (CUWCC). The grant was successfully awarded. The goal of CUWCC is to inform the public about Landscape water waste and how to stop it. We presented a class to teach local residents “How to smart water their yards.” We expanded the presentation to include an appreciation of water and how far it travels to make it to their homes. The event was featured by the State Water Resource Control Board September 1st 2015 in a staff presentation to the board that lauded innovative and effective conservation tools.
“Residents have a newfound priority to save water on their landscapes, while still being able to have and enjoy a beautiful yard. Joshua Tree Residents learned how to irrigate their yards efficiently and save water at The Landscape Water Saver Workshop on Saturday August 15th . The event was free and offered as part of the extensive effort to get residents to save water. Soil Moisture meters were given to the attendees and one lucky winner walked away with a Smart Controller, valued at over $300.” – JBWD
